A CFR scheme is made up of a group of volunteers – members of the public – who have been trained to attend local 999 calls on behalf of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and provide basic life support and care until the arrival of an emergency ambulance within the community in which they live or work. This role is highly rewarding and offers opportunities to meet new people and learn valuable lifesaving skills through the comprehensive training provided by the staff at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. CFRs make their communities safer by helping to bridge the gap between a 999 call being made and professional clinical help arriving on scene.
We already have a small team in Pewsey, but we really need to recruit some new members to increase the cover and the effectiveness of the scheme.
If you are reasonably fit, can commit some on-call hours every week, have a car and live in or around Pewsey or Upavon then please consider applying to become an Ambulance Service volunteer Community Responder. For more information visit the CFR section on the Trust’s website (www.SWAST.NHS.UK) and to apply visit www.JOBS.NHS.UK and look for Job Reference: 202-010-17.
